Terry Fox Run 2007

Wohoo! We did it. I mean The Boy & Me did it. We ran the course and crossed the finishing line. We were there by 7.45 am but couldn't find parking near the drop off area, so we had to park at the Bird park and made our way to the start line.

At home before leaving

Cheeky pose - full moon?

Before the run - still can smile

Belly dancing warm-up - shake it, shake it ....

There were two sessions of warm-up, one by Fitness First, the other by these ladies doing belly dancing. You can guess which one received the most participation, hehe ...

Terry Fox Run Route

During the run

The guy in the orange cap took a short cut - loads of people behind us

The route started off with a hill ascend, which most of the participants was walking calmly as the starting horn has sounded. We walked for a bit until it was clear to run, and I asked the boy to set the pace. In case if he was tired, then he can walk albeit at a fast pace. I was surprised that he can clear the hilly bits of the course until we came to the Bird park area. Then the route was mostly downhill, so it didn't pose much problem to us.

He managed to run for about another km or so before we started to walk. And then the inevitable happened... he asked for a dukung (carry), which I obliged for about 500 m. Imagine me with a backpack on my front and a kid on my back... endurance training galore..

When we saw the finishing line, and the boy decided to run and finish the race, which is about 800m away. Congratulations son, you made it. Next year it will be the four of us (hopefully).

I'm a finisher !!!!!

Penat! Penat! Aiman lapar ni ...

After race treat - free cotton candy !!

ps. went to the donut place as the mrs. is having craving for it - We were there by 11 am, and there's about a 30 mins wait line already formed. By the time we got to order, the favs are all gone, but there are other just as good...total time spent in line & waiting for order 1 hour 10 mins, which reminded me, never again on weekends...
