My 15 mins of fame

Andy Warhol quoted “In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes”. So far this quotation has proven to be true as we see the rise and fall of famous people. But it does not concern only the celebrities, the situation could be implied to us mere mortals as well. Which makes me wonder, does the 15 minutes is the total time of exposure to fame for once, or all of it adds up to 15 minutes.

So far my claims to fame (from the most recent ):

1. Picture publish in national newspaper for some event/news coverage - twice ~ only pix, no quoted text
2. Voice heard/name announced on radio for winning an on-air contest - twice ~ thanx to my all singing all dancing smartphone (mental note need to win more to justify purchase )
3. Been on the “Jawapan anda muktamad?” tv show in 2002 – won the least amount possible due to being a total nervous wreck on camera plus getting wrong answer from lifeline - Love U Mum!

In school/college/uni

Suspension from school & withdrawal of prefect status due to an incident involving certain vending machine ~ they still remember me by that
Won a national computer programming contest with Julian et al – what a group of nerds

There maybe more but I just couldn’t think of any worth mentioning or trying to be ~mysterious~

So if I total up the amount, it has exceeded 15 minutes. Probably in grander scale of things, one would have to put weightage depending whether it is local, domestic, national, regional or international, hence it may only be a fraction of that. Say all of the things above properly scaled came to 5 minutes, I still have my 10 minutes to fill in. Possibilities of the next great headlines involving yours truly:

1. Occasional golfer thanked his lucky iron 8 for a hole-in-one which netted him a CLK ~ babe magnet = Cute Little Kelisa
2. Property magnate donates his estate to charity ~ charity = me
3. Drowning snorkeler discovers the ONE ring ~ Gollum, Gollum
4. Singing engineer won in national singing contest thru SMS voting ~ glitch in software the reason, supposed to be voted OUT

Whatever it may be, I don’t think I’m cut out for all the attention that fame brings….maybe it just suits me to lay low and be your average joe.
